W.A Allcocks, Adonis

Made by the "other" Allcocks of redditch, the Adonis is recognised as a dedicated barbel rod. Measuring 11ft and of three piece construction these rods are not only ideal for barbel but also tench, carp bream and chub.

This particular rod has benefited from  a bran new, hand planed tip section, some minor delamination repairsand a full restoration. All ferrules have bee re-seated. Agate tip and butt rings with hard chromed intermediate rings. The whippings have been replaced in the original colour scheme of claret whippings to the rings and ferrules, complimented with green intermediates.

J.B Walker MKIV avon kit rod.
A lovely example of a mkiv avon kit rod from J.B Walker. These blanks were built to Richard Walkers exact tapers. This particular rod has lovely dark flamed cane, which gives the rod a lovely crisp action.
Fully restored using the original rings, including real agate lined tip and butt rings. Whipped in claret with close whipped intermediates. Original ferrules have been polished and blued and fit well. both sections are the correct length and the rod is straight when assembled. Full cork handle is in good condition, with sliding alloy reel fittings. The reel fittings are slighty looser than my preference, but still hold a vintage mitchell reel securely.A lovely rod suited to the user rather than collector.

Precision rods R.Sealeys Festival

A Lovely example of the highly sought after R.Sealeys Festival, made by precision rods of redditch. This is a superb example of this rod, with a few differences to other versions of this rod. The handle is slightly longer than usual at 22" and is constructed from cork shives rather than the usual lower quality composite usually found on festivals. The handle shape is also different to usual, with a flared/trumpet end.
The rod is the correct length of 11ft, the butt being whole cane, the middle split cane and the tip is split cane with a compound taper, which this rod is famous for.
This rod has been completely restored using the finest silk threads. The agate tip and butt rings are original, with new high bells intermediate rings. The ferrules are also original and fit snugly with no knocks. The transfers and inscription are both perfect.
A superb rod ready to fish or add to your collection!
